#4: Come Out of Her: The Loyalty Test. Why Yahweh's Final Command is 'Come Out of Her,' Not 'Find a Better Church'
The Loyalty Test
Why Yahweh's Final Command is "Come Out of Her," Not "Find a Better Church"
For those beginning to awaken to the truth, one of the most difficult and emotionally charged questions is: "What do I do about church?"
For generations, we have been programmed to believe that faith in Yeshua is synonymous with attending a Sunday service in a dedicated building. It is where we find community, teaching, and a sense of belonging. Even as we begin to see the flaws—the pagan holidays, the watered-down doctrines, the focus on money and entertainment—a powerful justification often arises:
"I know it's not perfect, and I don't agree with everything the pastor says, but it's better to stay for the fellowship. Where else can I find association with other believers?"
This argument sounds wise and balanced. It feels humble. But is it biblical? Or is it a dangerous compromise that places our desire for comfort above a direct command from Yahweh?
Let's put this justification to the test against the unyielding Ground Truth of the scriptures.
1. The Indictment: Identifying "Her" as the Church System
Before we can understand the command, we must identify who it is being issued against. The book of Revelation speaks of a powerful, deceptive entity called "Mystery Babylon," the great harlot.
Revelation 17:1-2 (Restored WEB): "...‘Come here. I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who sits on many waters, with whom the kings of the earth committed sexual immorality, and those who dwell in the earth were made drunken with the wine of her sexual immorality.’"
The "sexual immorality" described here is spiritual fornication: the act of mixing the pure worship of Yahweh with the pagan traditions, philosophies, and power structures of the world. Does the modern institutional church system fit this description?
- Pagan Traditions: It celebrates Christmas (Saturnalia/Winter Solstice) and Easter (Festival of Ishtar), neither of which are commanded in scripture.
- Pagan Philosophies: It teaches the Greek doctrines of the Trinity and the immortal soul, which are not found in the Bible.
- Worldly Power Structures: It operates as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt corporation, making it beholden to the laws of the state (Caesar) and silencing its ability to speak true prophetic witness.
The modern church system, in its very DNA, is a hybrid entity. It is the product of a compromised faith that has made itself a "friend of the world." It is the primary vehicle through which the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk on a false, diluted gospel. It is, by definition, a core component of Babylon.
2. The Command: A Call for Separation, Not Reformation
With Babylon identified, the command issued to Yahweh's people is not ambiguous. It is not "fix it from within" or "be a light in the darkness." It is a direct evacuation order.
Revelation 18:4-5 (Restored WEB): "I heard another voice from heaven, saying, 'Come out of her, my people, that you have no participation in her sins, and that you don’t receive of her plagues; for her sins have reached to the sky, and God has remembered her iniquities.'"
Let's dissect this command forensically:
- The Action: "Come out of her." This is a command for physical and spiritual separation.
- The Reason #1: "...that you have no participation in her sins." Your continued presence, attendance, and financial support (tithes and offerings) make you a participant. Even if you silently disagree in your pew, your presence validates the system and funds the teaching of its errors. You become complicit.
- The Reason #2: "...that you don’t receive of her plagues." This is the critical consequence. A direct causal link is established: those who participate in her sins will share in her judgment. To remain inside Babylon is to mark yourself for the same punishment destined for Babylon.
This single passage dismantles the argument for staying. It reframes "staying for the fellowship" as "participating in sin" and exposes the believer to a share in Babylon's judgment.
3. The Justification: Is Babylonian Fellowship True Fellowship?
But what about the deep human need for association? Isn't it better than being alone?
Scripture warns us that not all fellowship is created equal. In fact, compromised fellowship is a spiritual trap.
2 Corinthians 6:14, 17 (Restored WEB): "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers... Therefore, ‘Come out from among them, and be separate,’ says the Lord. ‘Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.’"
While the people in the pews may be sincere, the system they are yoked to is unclean. It is a system that teaches false doctrines and mixes the holy with the profane. To willingly yoke yourself to that system every Sunday for the sake of "association" is a direct act of disobedience.
Furthermore, Yeshua warned us where the greatest danger would lie:
Matthew 7:15 (Restored WEB): "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves."
The church building is the wolf's primary hunting ground. He wears the "sheep's clothing" of a pastor's title and a seminary degree. To remain in such an environment, thinking you can "eat the fish and spit out the bones," is to underestimate the subtle poison being administered and to overestimate your own ability to resist it.
True biblical fellowship is defined by Yeshua Himself: "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them" (Matthew 18:20). It does not require a building, a program, or a pastor. It requires a shared allegiance to the uncompromised truth.
The Verdict: It's a Test of Loyalty
Ultimately, the choice to stay or to leave is not about logistics or social needs. It is a profound test of loyalty. Where does your ultimate allegiance lie?
Staying in a system you know is compromised is the very definition of being lukewarm.
Revelation 3:16 (Restored WEB): "So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of my mouth."
The lukewarm believer is the one who tries to have it both ways: the truth of Yeshua in their heart, but the comfort and social acceptance of Babylon in their life. Yeshua's response is not accommodation; it is visceral rejection.
To remain in fellowship with the institutional church is to declare friendship with a worldly system. And the Bible is clear on this point:
James 4:4 (Restored WEB): "...don’t you know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God."
Your presence in the pew is your vote. It is a weekly declaration of where you stand. Is your loyalty to the comfort of the institution, or to the uncomfortable command of your King?
Leaving is hard. It is often lonely. It forces you to become a true Berean (Acts 17:11), responsible for your own learning and spiritual walk. But it is the path of obedience. It is the only path that honors the command, purifies your walk, and separates you from the coming judgment. True fellowship is out here in the wilderness, among the scattered Remnant who have chosen the King over the comfort of His counterfeit.
End of Dossier.
