Restoring the Name of Yeshua

Introduction: The Name is the Mission

Once we have restored the name of the Father (Yahweh), we must look at the name of the Son.

Most of the world knows Him as "Jesus." This name is comfortable; it is familiar. But in our search for Ground Truth, comfort is not the metric—accuracy is.

The name "Jesus" is the System's translation of a translation. While it identifies the person, it completely hides the power and the meaning of His identity. It has no etymological meaning in English, Latin, or Greek. It is simply a label.

To understand who He really is, and what His relationship is to the Father, we must go back to the source. We must uncover His Ground Truth name: Yeshua.

1. The Inversion: A Translation of a Translation

How did we get the name "Jesus"? It is the final product of a long chain of translations that moved the name further and further from its origin.

The Chain of Dilution:

1. Hebrew (Original): Yeshua
2. Greek: Because Greek does not have the "sh" sound, writers used the closest phonetic representation: Iēsous (Ἰησοῦς).
3. Latin: This was translated into Latin as Iesus.
4. English: Finally, this became the English Jesus.

By the end of this chain, the sound had changed, but more importantly, the meaning was lost.

2. The Hebrew Origin: The Detective's Path

The man we follow was not Greek; He was a Hebrew living in Judea.

His Hebrew name was יֵשׁוּעַ (Yeshua).

This was a common name at the time. It is actually a shortened form of the older Hebrew name יְהוֹשֻׁעַ (Yehoshua)—the same name as "Joshua" in the Old Testament. When He walked the earth, His family and disciples did not call Him "Jesus" or "Iēsous." They called Him Yeshua.

3. The "Ground Truth" Meaning: Yahweh is Salvation

Why does this matter? Because in Hebrew, names are not just labels; they are definitions. The name Yeshua is the mission.

The name is a compound word:

• "Yeho-": This is the prefix for Yahweh (the Father's name).
• "shua": This is the word for salvation.

When you put them together, the Ground Truth name Yeshua literally means "Yahweh is Salvation" or "Yahweh Saves."

This meaning is explicitly confirmed in the angel's command in Matthew:

"...and you shall call His name Yeshua, for He will save His people from their sins." — Matthew 1:21

In English, this verse loses its punch. But in Hebrew, it is a powerful wordplay: "Call Him [Yahweh Saves], for He will [Save]..." The System's translation hides this direct link between the Son's name and His purpose.

Conclusion: Strategic Clarity

We use the name Yeshua to restore Strategic Clarity.

When we say "Jesus," we are using a name with no meaning. When we say "Yeshua," we are making a declaration of faith every time we speak. We are acknowledging that Yahweh (the Father) is the source, and Salvation is the result.

It reminds us that the Son came not in His own name, but in the name of His Father. In this Little Season, using the true names is how we anchor ourselves to the reality of who They are.
